    Seems like every few years there is some sort of major emergence of cicadas around here. Couple years ago it was insane. A lot of them end up in the water. Caught some nice fins on Megabass cicada lure.

    Not exactly true especially with more modern boats. Not sure how old the OP boat is. I have a 5 year old aluminum boat without so much as a toothpick worth of wood in the construction. I’d say that is from cranking down the straps way to tight worrying about it being super secure.

    I’m with ya. There are occasional problems, very rare at the ramp parking area of the places I go but nothing to be as paranoid as the OP. We had PETA members let air out of trailer tires a while back. I don’t think I could enjoy boating if I had worry about thieves every trip.

    Yep, too deep and you’re screwed. Next time you launch back in nice and easy and keep an eye on when the boat starts to float off. Take note how deep your trailer is at that point. That will let you know about how deep you need to be for loading. Agree with Scott. No need to power load.

    You know,, you might be on to a money maker right there. Not necessarily only a generator but some sort of lithium cell that you can quick transfer the energy into a depleted vehicle. I would think you would be busy depending on your area and you could state your price and get it.

    A hybrid might be kind of the best of both worlds. Not that I would buy one at this point but do know a guy that has a small hybrid KIA SUV. I’ve ridden in the thing, it’s not bad at all and he gets like 40 MPG. No need to plug in those things
