    2007 Tahoe 5.0 fuel issues

you shouldn't see fuel from the venturis at idle. assuming it won't stay running even with fp jumped?

Water pouring from harmonic balancer area on muffs

yeah, there are magnets glued to the inside of the rotor there, likely what you're feeling. as mentioned, closed cooling and can't think of what would be leaking back there. you're sure it's fresh water and not coolant? show a pic... other thought would be if you have a leak in the HX that would...

    Bow light not working

No. it could be stopped by a diode if installed backwards (= no lights), but it couldn't magically apply power to the circuit if the switch was open. Lights wouldn't work at all.

    Bow light not working

Nope. Not unless it was not a simple on/off SPST switch. The LED can have polarity that an incandescent doesn't, but it won't magically cause power to reach the light that otherwise wouldn't because of an open switch. If anything the light wouldn't work at all. Post a wiring diagram of how to...

I only see 8M0090697 as a replacement, looks like all the replacements are PMGR starters?

    Bow light not working

Wouldn't cause the behavior described if wired backwards regardless.

    Bow light not working

Can't wire a SPST switch wrong, which is what I was ASSuming. Switch CAN be installed reversed though, like @tpenfield said. Without having moved the switch, a SPDT with the wire on the wrong output sounds the most likely... However, @rjmman , you said you didn't touch the switch or wiring...

    Bow light not working

You're correct. Sounds like a short to power, but I can't think of why flipping the switch would turn the light off if that's the case.

    1988 350 Stumble Problem

Check fuel pressure. Put a timing light on the coil wire and make sure you're getting consistent firing.

Help a little old lady with her little old mercruiser 120 wiring?

WTF. That makes no sense. LMK if I have this correct: 9 o'clock position: 1. Main (+) connection to battery/starter--always hot (no 110a fuse on the early ones? 2. Wire to coil pos--always hot? 3. Fused link to 3 o'clock position 12 o'clock: grounds 3 o'clock: 1. Fused link from 9 o'clock 2...

Missing transom bolt on Mercruser outdrive to bellhousing.

I'll note that when I encountered this, I had some localized rot around the holes. I was able to scrape out the rotten areas (maybe 1/2"), fill with epoxy, redrill the holes, and then slather the whole mess in 4200 before reinstalling. I probably could have just used 4200 instead of the...

Missing transom bolt on Mercruser outdrive to bellhousing.

+1, those bolts corrode either because of rotten transom or lead to rotten transom. Guessing that if you try to turn the other one it will just spin.

    Tb IV intermittent spark ?$#???

Forgot about that part. Yes new sensor, other new tune up stuff won't hurt but isn't current cause of your problems. Like @04fxdwgi25 (and me earlier) said, consistent 12v to your coil is the most important thing to get sorted. You can try to jumper direct 12v to your coil pos and see if you get...

    Tb IV intermittent spark ?$#???

No, end with the sensor. If you aren't getting power to the coil, nothing's going to work. (The troubleshooting guide would have stopped you at step 1 if you had looked at it). You need to trace your wiring and see where you're losing power. Start at the ignition switch.

    Slave solenoid does nothing

Don't have that one, only manual 8.

    Slave solenoid does nothing

Not sure if the 488 even had a slave solenoid--early 470s didn't (I don't have a wiring diagram for the early ones). Maybe some goofy wiring/alterations. But yeah, if you're getting a click to the starter then the problem is either the starter, main starter solenoid, or corrosion in between.

Also check your idle speed. Too high will make it run on as well.
