    Building a tackle drawer unit

You can likely buy the plastic lure holders at a department store. You can also likely find some plastic drawers as well. 1/4" luan plywood can make the horizontal partitions, and 3/8 Luan plywood for the "carcass". Some good spar urethane to seal the plywood and brass, bronze, chrome plated...

Boat to store inside garage ?

The height of the boat on the trailer is also a concern, especially if it has a windshield.

    Non-Skid - Economic Options

Gee, paint stores sell special fine sand for that purpose. I would expect grits, being organic, will rot away, after some wear by the feet/shoes. Boat stores will have self-stick anti slip vinyl as well.

    2007 e-tec 250 lower mount corrosion

Generally, midsections do not corrode like that. Actually, after the gearcases and powerheads go bad, they are the only remaining parts in good shape. You might look for a used midsection at the usual salvage yards and online. Yours looks too far gone to be epoxied back to life.

    Mid-80’s Evinrude remote control

Marine grease is best. Wallyworld will have some.

    50 amp braker

If that 5.0L motor is a small block chevy, it often has a starter that has s solenoid that when actuated, pushes the starter gear into the flywheel ring gear. Until the gear is engaged, the starter does not spin. Specifically, when the starter solenoid is energized, it magnetizes and pulls a...

    Cooling problems

The written instructions are likely clearer than a diagram in the service manual. There are several adhesives and lubricants specified. Use what is spec'd or actual substitutes, i.e. use Permatex aviation on the pump base gasket, and 3 or 4 drops silicone on the oring in the pump cap. Also...

    Need advice

I would expect a component of a useful app would take into account a few factors. How far is your usual boating trip? How much weather can you observe, and how much weather do you need the internet to predict for you?

    Mid-80’s Evinrude remote control

The older controls could be reversed. I would expect you would be able to get a replacement for your controls, as your configuration is not unusual. The easiest thing is to take the control apart and grease it.

Anode Bolts Mercruiser Alpha One Gen One 3.0

I no longer have the boat. Why not measure the trim rod diameter and pop over to a marine store and see what kind of anodes they have. There are lots of options for a creative mind. Just make sure the anodes are grounded somehow. MerCruiser used to install horseshoe-shaped anodes on the trim...

Anode Bolts Mercruiser Alpha One Gen One 3.0

Easy stuff. Trim the outdrive down all the way. Measure the diameter of the stainless steel trim rods and buy 2 egg shaped anodes with the correct diameter and install them. Get some heavy (12ga or so) stranded copper wire (insulated is best) and crimp an eye on one end and strip an inch or...

Looking for a Turning Point Hub/Washer for a mercruiser

OK, how about a unique idea? A newer TP hub (or any other hub) will have a brass splined "tube" that connects the hard plastic hub to the propshaft. The plastic in turn locks into the prop shell. Why not take one of those standard hubs and shave it if necessary to fit into your prop shell...

    '85 50HP 2-Stroke - Does not run in water

None of the spark plugs are running really lean, IMO. The bottom ones are indeed wetter though. Really lean is a green or white tint to the spark plugs. You might check/rebuild your fuel pump, as the lower cylinder crankcases normally power the fuel pump, and if the diaphragm leaks, it...

Anode Bolts Mercruiser Alpha One Gen One 3.0

I used to put the egg-shaped zinc anodes on the trim rods. I ran ground wires to the mounting bolts of the trim rams.

Looking for a Turning Point Hub/Washer for a mercruiser

Johnson outboards use a spacer that is splined. It should fit your Mercruiser, and take up the space the star washer normally would. The standard Mercury prop nut is a nylon lock nut. The star washer is used but is probably overkill. When you say thrust washer, you mean the washer that...

    four stroke merc runnability

Carb four cycle motors will have primer bulbs. EFI and FI motors have electric fuel pumps and often no primer bulbs You might take a compression test to see if the motor is healthy. usually service manuals have fuel pump output and/or pressure tests.

need help finding part 94 mercury 40hp carb part

I did not find on on the web. A OB salvage yard is a distinct possibility. Also a plumbing parts store, or even the Home Despot should have a hose barb to threaded adaptor. The question is whether the thread is NPT, and whether that tapered area is needed. You could always drill the hole, if...

    Water in fuel

Gee, my shake-shake siphon will siphon 6 gal of fuel in 5 minutes or less. It has quite a large diameter capacity and doesn't require electricity and lasts for decades. How old is the gasoline? If it is not too old, it should be fine to use after the alcohol/water mix is out of the tank.
