    No kidding! We used to go to a carp o Rama carp shoot. You used a fishing bow. Down by Madison Wi we launched and worked our way acr to the shallows where the carp were. zig zag between the mess, some were fishing, water skiing, and jet skiing. What a mess. At least the shallows were calm!

    Took me awhile to find the transducer. From what I see ahead of the prop, it should be more upright. The instructions should tell you what if any angle is a no-go.

    Be sure the line is still attached to the bottom of the resivoir and to the drive. It’s possible that someone replaced the drive and it doesn’t need it anymore. Or you have a leaky drive, or it wasn’t filled properly before. Seeing it’s a new to you boat, you should do the drive service and...

    Yeah, I’ve towed a couple over the years. Those were just unfortunate breakdowns. One I towed just happened to be a guy that pulled me out of a snow bank a couple years before. Favor returned!

    Bellows adhesive or not?

    I’ve seen a few that used weather strip adhesive, the yellow stuff. I personally don’t know if there is a difference between that and the quicksilver brand only the color? But for peace of mind I only use Quicksilver.

    If it’s loose in the gimbal housing and the gimbal ring is loose and beat up from wear. You will be able to tell when you get the pin unattached from the rest. As suggested, you will be good to have a factory manual.

    I've done this repair twice on customers boats without removing the motor. But if the seal area and steering pin need replacing, you will more than likely need to pull the motor if you have to replace the housing itself.
