    Wood cost

I just now checked online and a 2x4x8 is $3.48 at Home Depot. 🤷‍♂️ I watch business shows every weekday and lumber prices overall have been coming down. (y)

    1980 Holiday 181

Oh, sorry. I should have been more clear. I got the magnetic lights as a temporary solution in order to get a trailer with non-functioning lights home without having to do a bunch of troubleshooting, rewiring and whatnot while on the road somewhere. Learned that the hard way after dark one...

    1980 Holiday 181

Regarding trailer lights... I picked up a cheap set of magnetic trailer lights from Harbor Freight for instances like yours. I didn't rely only on the magnets to keep them secure. I also used zip ties to hold them down tight. They worked out great! (y)

1989 Starcraft Islander 221V repair and repower

This is how I did the foam for my Kingfisher. We cut each piece by hand with utility knives, glued the pieces together with construction adhesive and then taped them with aluminum tape. The HDPE plastic trash bags over the foam sections at the stern are gasoline proof, "just in case" there's...

Bolt hole repair in aluminum gunwales - any tips?

I had a similar situation on my Kingfisher, including a giant hole from a PO rod holder. The fix was simple, I fashioned a small aluminum plate that fit between the gunnel edges and covered the hole(s) and then riveted it in place. Looks factory. ;)

    1987 Starcraft Islander Restoration

Yeah, I also have the Garmin Striker Plus 4 and agree that it's pretty weak. No basemap is a real issue. The original plan when I bought the unit was for me to go out and map my favorite lake myself, using the manual method in the Garmin. But once on the water, that plan goes away...

Additional sound signals for electric boats?

What about seriously hearing impaired or deaf boat operators? They're not going to hear a noisemaker.

    Nobody fishing?

Yeah, several lakes closer to home for us are also not usable with the boat because of our drought too. The lake we've been going to is more than an hour away, but definitely worth the trip.

    Nobody fishing?

We got back out there again this morning. I got 3 small bass in the livewell and lost a 4th at the boat. 😁 But the boy lost a big one next to the boat which was bigger than all 4 of mine combined! He was not happy! 🤪 🤣

First boat is it worth it?

Roccafellas... Just an FYI for clarification of terms. You refer to "inboard" when you're really talking about an "inboard/outboard" (I/O) drive. Sometimes also known as a "sterndrive." An inboard is different. See pic below. The great attraction to the I/O type is because many folks are...
