    When you remove the drive and if you have the remote oil res for the drive CUT the oil hose in half before removing the housing. If you snap the plastic nipple end you may have to remove the motor to fix it. If not the motor then the steering cylinder for access.

    With a new pump unit and if you can lift it my hand the ram o rings are leaking internally. I would take atleast 1 apart and inspect for O ring damage Spanner wrench is all thats needed

    Is the outdrive off? are you using muffs when trying to start? The exaust note sounds funny like a slight hydrolock or stuck valve. Tell us EXACTLY the steps you took winterizing the motor

    No, you dont try to do that with the drive attached. If the tool slid in and the drive went in with no resistance your most likely very,very close to correct alignment

    Chris,Its a Bravo. drive must come off, remove nut remove cable core, remove outer sheath by pulling out thru the shift bellow. R/R bellow , Too great a chance of kinking the cable and sheath
