Help Getting Boat on EZLoader Trailer

Sounds like you were a bit heavy-handed with the throttle. Not sure what engine you have . . . some stay down better in reverse than others. Your engine might be lifting up too easily.

Help Getting Boat on EZLoader Trailer

The boat has no plug . . . one of the stranger things about this boat.

    Voltage low code 4602-32

Just catching up to this thread. I got the same fault code on my starboard engine when testing out my new batteries. (4602-23) . . . It complained about voltage, blah, blah, blah. There was not much of a description to the error code on my Diacom, but I was able to clear it.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Subscribing in . . . . I would take a second look at the fuel tank before you put it in. Boats rarely sit level in the water (bow slightly up) and are certainly not level underway. So, the vent fitting, if it does not have the internal tube going to the front, may have trouble breathing...

    Sealing Closed Cell Foam Flotation

Not sure there is a prescribed method or paint, but if you have filled the chambers in a hull and cut off the excess foam, you could slap a coating of resin on the foam before laying the deck down. Often folks fill the chambers in the hull AFTER the deck is laid down (via access holes in the...

Help Getting Boat on EZLoader Trailer

Each boat/trailer combination is going to have its own idiosyncrasies on the common theme of the trailer being at a proper depth. The hole idea is to have the trailer bunks (or rollers) provide guidance to the hull of the boat while the boat is still floating for the most part. Too deep -...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Yup, this boat is the most complicated one I’ve owned. I think the newer ones are even worse.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

I don't think AD is searching for another boat, having just dropped some serious coin for the new 28 foot Chappy. Just a matter of getting through the teething pains, so it seems. Often, once you buy a boat (new or used) you are 'stuck' for a while and have to make the best of it. I miss...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Yes, I've heard of it . . . I don't have a lanyard system on my boat (seems strange), but I'll go with the 'Mongo' physical lanyard switch. . . .

What is the 1stmate app supposed to do? Is it bluetooth lanyard?

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Here are my design modifications that I'll be trying when I am back at the boat . . . A few minor changes to make the switch over from solar charging to the DC-DC charger based on the engine ignition being 'on' (engines running). I'll also need to test the starboard alternator to see if it is...

    Ohio bill of sales

Tough lesson to learn. Perhaps you can see if there is a way to title & register the boat as a 'salvage boat'.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

BTW - I'm finding 1.0 - 1.5 voltage loss across some of the electrical junctions/bus bars, etc. . . . maybe 8 year old connections need some freshening up.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Thanks . . . it will become a more learning thread than it was. Anyway . . . I figured something out that I had not really factored into the design. It seems that an alternator connected to an engine has some level of voltage on its output while it is NOT running. Pretty much around battery...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Quick Update . . . after some poking around. I am focusing on the 2-alternator/3-battery isolator. I'm seeing voltage where I don't think I should be. It is a good thing I put a bunch of CB's in the wiring layout. I can isolate things for testing and diagnostics.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I decided to start the boat engines today. It turned out to be a bad idea . . . With the engines running the DC-DC charger is powered from the alternator(s) and charging the LFP batteries, and the alternators are also charging the starter batteries. On the PORT engine: I was getting some...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Thank you 😀 . It looks like 'starter' batteries are the next frontier for the LiFePO4 market. I am seeing CCA spec's in the 1000+ Amp range. However, it does not look like there has been much to address the issues of alternator (stator) charging. 'Smart' alternators are better suited. I'm...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

A few final touches to the battery project. Boxes and covers in place. I relocated and re-purposed the battery labels. The system has been working well. The EPEver does have a mind of its own and does whatever it thinks best. :ROFLMAO: . . . Still waiting for a string of sunny days to...

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

You probably should get a copy of the Mercruiser installation manual. You can get yourself into a whole world of trouble if you are not rebuilding the transom to Mercruiser spec's in terms of thickness and 'flatness'.

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

    Mercruiser spec is 2" thick . . . 2-1/4" maximum.
