    LiFePO Batteries ???

I cleaned up a few of the notes, etc. in the diagram. Although the diagram look busy most of it (physically) is located along the engine room bulkhead and the 2 engine room electrical panels. EDIT: 2/2/2024 . . . a few more edits to the picture. .

    LiFePO Batteries ???

That would be more of a lead-acid situation. With the LiFePO4 batteries, the BMS is in charge of short protection, over-charge protection, over-discharge protection, and cell balancing. So, one battery would protect itself from the other in a parallel connection. There are precautions with...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

The BMS would be 'in charge' of disconnecting the battery. . . sort of depends on how much functionality is within the BMS. I'm not really concerned about it . . . until such a thing happens

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Yes, I'm not sure about the difference of LFP vs lead acid, but my thinking is that if the battery 'goes bad' the BMS will (should) shut it off. Hopefully, this theory will remain untested

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I'm going with 2 100Ah batteries. I could get a single 230 Ah battery, but my thinking is with 2 separate batteries, if one goes bad, there is a second.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Quick Update . . . Prices on LiFePO batteries have come down nicely over the past year, so my budget for the battery/electrical project is about $1,500 vs. my original budget of $2,500+. I have also simplified the design a bit which saved a few $$$. Here is my latest design. I'll probably be...

any tire preference for vans at the boat ramp?

Greetings @Philster . . . we haven't seen you around in a while. Didn't you have a Checkmate boat? Still have it? As for the ramp tires . . . I echo many of the comments . . . good tread, proper inflation.

    Would you?

I assume that you are asking because it is questionable. I believe the rated towing capacity of the Jeep is around 3500 lbs. Probably not the best thing to do for highway speeds. . .

    Swim platform

@Jakem Here is the link to my swim platform build. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/custom-fiberglass-extended-swim-platform.712156/ It is made of fiberglass and foam and I made a mold for the platform, much like what a boat factory would do.

Say goodbye to Glastron as you know it

Kind of like the rental car market for boats. One thing for sure is that boat prices going up over the years have pretty much prohibited the budget-buyer from owning a new boat. Boat clubs seem to be popular for those who just want to enjoy boating, but don't have the means or desire to own a...

    boat

If it was that simple the seller would probably have done that already. If the motor needs an electrical cable, then I wonder when the video was made. Perhaps the engine is not in running condition now. It may not be much of an 'opportunity'.

Getting ready for the ice and cold in central Texas!

Climate change is much like physics . . . 'What has been set in motion will remain in motion until acted upon by another force.' But fear not . . . we won't destroy the earth; it will destroy us. :ROFLMAO: I am excited about the prospects of having a deep water mooring in about 200 years . ...

1998 Crownline 202br engine compartment access

Welcome to iBoats . . . Just looking at a few pictures of those boats on the Internet . . . it is really tight. It looks like you would be taking the rear seat apart to do anything major in terms of maintenance. So, you certainly would not be buying it for its engine access. What other...

    1974 Merc 9.8 hp

I have the 7.5 HP version of that motor. I would check the throttle linkage and the timing advance linkage just to make sure all is in order. IIRC, the throttle linkage has stops (screw/nut combos) up around the flywheel housing. Maybe the high speed stop on the linkage is not set right or...
