    Anyway I used this before my mechanic showed up for this test. I jumped the starter and you do NOT have to run the motor. I just needed the piece of mind. The other is the spark test. Jumper kit; Worked fine. and you can always jump it with a screwdriver if you feel good about doing that...

    Seems to be the way as of late. Just ordered 6 freakin magnet kits for the flywheel repair. Ouch!

    Went back with some glass reinforced pc on the large gaps, will sand and fair. Next will be a sanding and paint of the cowls. maybe the lower too. Nice bright white coat under the existing dulled paint.

    Still kickin it. Finally had a mobile engine mechanic come out to help with the engine. I got great compression on my readings off 110-105, spark is good, He's is giving the carbs a sonic bath at this time and a rebuild. I did do a rebuild awhile back but like that I have another set of eyes...

    I don't think anyone recommended shortcuts here. Am I missing something?

    More than likely a new transom. BUT pull off engine and review holes for damage to transom. May be able to core out holes, fill with epoxy then glass over. Depends on how much rot there may be. Could also drill some random holes in transom and review wood shavings as being wet or dry.

    Just for the record you have there a total rehab. Cap off, all glass over wood removed, new transom, new stringers/bulkheads, new floor, flotation foam, paint/gelcoat, electrical wiring, upholstery, fuel related components. It can be done and a lot of great guys here to help you get it done...

    Mick, All I want to do is put this boat in the water and sail away, catch fish. Major years long issues with my better half with home care, palliative care hospice. It's what I have and the boat is well , a someday thing. Get the motor up to snuff, accent the cabin, pull a few more wires etc...
