    Have you measured the battery voltage while jumped on the starter ? could be worn brushes stuck in the brush holder.

    Which ever motor checks out as being better, before buying. Compression test each cylinder. At the very least. If running is not allowed.

    Closing the hatches ? Confines the explosive gasoline fumes. BIGGER MORE intense explosion could result. I want the least intense explosion.

    You have to get all the UNTREATED water out. Or have running water on the first start up next spring. Do post #4 procedure !! Then relax all winter. I never trust the marina winterizing people to do a .....Very small job like yours. Do it yourself. (y)

    How to get rid of gasoline fumes at the bottom is a USCG regulation Based on the square footage of the compartment in Square Feet. I start my blower before the gas hose is placed in the pipe. The engine is always turned off. Blower on. Before I take the hose from a dock person.

    Is there a set of idle speed mixture and idle speed screws to adjust better ? Are the sparkplugs the correct ones ? Do they look not perfect ?

    You said a good 15 minutes? Original run times were 45 minutes to reach the problem.

    What does prepping fiberglass have to do with building a cradle to prevent distorting the hull ? While replacing each floor stringer ? Or even the whole transom ? Cross braces are required if removing the transom completely.

    I keep forgetting there is only 1 way to anything. Your way. I redesigned old production machines to compete competitively with new cheap short lived ones. Always had more than 2 ways to get the job done correctly. Also did it so any failure could always be returned to original productivity.
