    Trouble bleeding air

Something I did to myself once: forgot to turn the valve back on at the tank.

    Trouble bleeding air

Had one several years ago that a customer brought in. Took a while but I found a double gasket on a racor filter. Problem solved.

    Is the buddy heater safe?

Depends on where the fuel tank is and if no fumes/leaks are inside the boat. No blowers on most outboards but to me there should be if the fuel tank is under the deck.

    Crankshaft sound?

It also helps seal the starter from any sparks that make their way to the Bendix area from igniting fuel fumes, that's why it has a gasket. I see not much of a need for the gasket but the mfg puts them in. The cover itself is to protect you if you reach down there while running. Also I saw one...

How do you shift gears?? Merc 9.9 Four stroke

I was going to suggest just that. If you have never worked on certain things sometimes it's best to have a qualified mechanic service, it. The previous owner did not do that, I've seen a lot of owner related stuff over the years. Most of the time I explain to the owner how things work and how...

    Any Archers, archery hunters here?

Still have to set up my stuff. Being retired I thought I’d have more hunting time. Not yet. To many things to get done before the white stuff comes.

    Removing Bell Housing

Depends on what you want to spend on an older boat. Possibly a machine shop could bore out the pin area and press a bushing in there to repair it.

    Bilge issue

Flat spots? So the hose was squished. I'd of just replaced it.

    Bilge issue

Then it could be just wearing out and not running as fast as it should. Or is there a check valve in the pump/line that’s plugged up?

    1979 pre-alpha 165 Merc cruiser

No. The sheath is worn also. The cable itself could be ok but why do it twice? I've never been a fan of using old parts with new. Besides, the new cable comes complete.

Hydraulic Lifter Volvo Penta 4.3 Vortec

No. On a car, you develop a leak of sorts, you pull over and get help. In a boat or airplane, you hope to land or get rescued.

Where to pass the fuel filling hose and vent fuel hose?

Should have done what I did. Measure everything three times before teardown, and measure constantly during teardown. Everything fit pretty well when I was done.

MAG 350 loses power after 20 minutes, need help

Pull the fuel pickup tube and check that. Some have a screen down there and debris in the tank can plug it up. When you shut down the debris floats away from the pickup. Just another thing to check.

    Cracked block leaking water

I personally had that same issue with a mercruiser 140. When I got the boat all the core plugs were popped out but it ran for a test of one minute. I removed the motor, replaced all the core plugs, patched the cracks with jb, used a sponge to roughen up the jb so it looked like the cast. Stuffed...

I don't know that motor well, but I thought that bar was the reverse lock.

Strange one. It’s not in the hole? I’d imagine not.

How to secure floating dock with Pontoon Boat

Floating docks are best secured using a smaller pipe with a pad on the bottom, or pounded down into the sea bed. I’d go with the pad as it’s easier to raise when you pull the dock. Those pipes will go through another slightly larger pipe that is attached to the dock itself. The dock can float...

    Waterproof Thread locker

Just do not add more than a small dab of red on those pivot bolts. I've had a couple that someone used a ton of it on and heat would not take them out. There was so much on there that I'm surprised it even pivoted.
