    1966 Starcraft Holiday Engine Repower

I used the Old Timers Formula on my Kingfisher transom and I'm planning to also paint it for aesthetics upon final installation.

    Finally got my hotrod

Here's the background on why I bought the car. My beloved F-150 nearly left me stranded 60 miles from home last week. Had it not been for the help of a kindly gentleman, I would have had to get the truck towed back home. But the guy was able to help me get it running and I drove it straight...

    Finally got my hotrod

It's a stealth hotrod! 429HP and 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Top speed limited by onboard computer to 150MPH. :heh: Luxurious and comfy too! It's home now.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Today's progress. We're all finished for today. After we strip, we pressure wash. Then the boy squeegees the boat and towels it dry so that the next step can be taken quickly. Stripping so far:

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Oh sure, now ya tell me! The details you provided make sense. Lots of good, helpful information. Thanks! And based on that info, I can't help but wonder if the ideal way to apply the stripper would be to spray it on. Ya know? So after my earlier post, we tried a couple different...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Didn't do any boat work on turkey day or Black Friday but got back at it today. Taking a lunch break now. :hungry: I'm disappointed with the results thus far. We marked a small area to strip, then applied a thick coat of Jasco using brushes. Next, we covered the stripper with plastic sheet...

    Some good stuff happening

I was supposed to be working on my Kingfisher this afternoon but my buddy showed up to finish the final outlet installation. It's all done now. :) Getting the wiring tapped in to the last outlet. The last outlet being added. I forgot to get a pic when it was finished. D'oh!

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Wellll.... that didn't work! The instructions right there on the Jasco container clearly state to apply a thick coat with a brush. So I tried to take a shortcut in order to make application faster by applying with rollers. Poor results. My bad. Lesson learned: FOLLOW THE...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We cut the sheet to cover from the keel to the spray rail. The plan is to lift the plastic, glop on the gloop, then tape it back down over top of the paint remover. QUESTION: Should the plastic sheet have an air gap or is it okay to actually touch the stripper? :eyebrows: :heh:

Got the KF back into the garage today. And we tested the pressure washer and I'm quite happy with its performance. :)

This afternoon we got the tarp back onto the floor and the Kingfisher back inside, ready for more work.

The new electrical outlet box will be installed at the rear of the building, where the yellow line is in the pic, to provide power at the back.

    Some good stuff happening

I've had this 9'x9' shed for a decade. Had mucho stuff in there before I got the garage. I took twice as much to the dump last weekend as you see in the garage now. But I didn't get the tool cabinets, storage racks and work-mates until after the garage was built. The shed now sits empty...

    Some good stuff happening

Man, I hear ya about invading junk! It seems to forever creep about, trying to make its way inside. The boy and I spent a few hours yesterday rearranging things a bit. Once the KF is done, I'll probably install some permanent hangers and whatnot in order to get things up higher and out...

    Some good stuff happening

This afternoon my bud came over and installed the 2 overhead lights I'd ordered and received this week. I now have 10 LED lights totaling 45,000 lumens of light output inside the garage. It is bright in there! :joyous: He also installed the new flood lights I bought this week for the...
