building a full cabin over cockpit

Pictures that you posted, don't help much. Do you have any sketches to share. Maybe do an arch supported hardtop with canvas/strataglass sides.

What would happen if an engine died on plane?

I ran out of gas out in the bay once . . . The boat slowed down and came to a stop. Then the waves (4 footers) started moving us towards some exposed rocks (maybe 500 feet away). I tossed out the anchor and the Admiral called SeaTow. I don't recall the boat spinning out . . . :D

    NFL Week - 17

Very scary and somber happening last night in MNF. Apparent cardiac arrest. . . good thing the medical staff was right there. The last time this sort of thing happened was in a Detroit Lions game in 1971. NFL done right to postpone the game.

Fresh water system Winterization....anyone drain system for winter storage?

My current and previous boats have/had the fresh water system. Enclosed head, 2 sinks, water heater, water supply tank, waste water tank. I do a combination of purging the water and adding AF. Although I drain everything and blow out the lines as best I can, it is difficult to say if there is...

    is Nada boat valuation acurate?

On my 'new' boat . . . it was the reverse situation . . . NADA was high and BUC was low vs. 'the market'.

    is Nada boat valuation acurate?

NADA can be accurate . . . or not. I have found NADA to be more reflective of a depreciation curve than a market assessment. There is some market input, but not all that much . . . so it seems. Try bucvalu.com as a second source (I think you can get a free membership which allows 3...

    Who didn't winterize??

Big winds in VT . . . lots of power outages. It was raining most of the day and then the temperature dropped from 50˚F to 25˚F in no time and started snowing. Probably will be single digits in the AM. Power just came back on.

Sorry for the delayed response guys. I'm in VT for the holiday and there have been power outages, so no Internet until now. I have not done much canvas work, but hope to be doing some in the future. AD - did you not order the canvas options on the 280 OSX?

    The Boating Season That Wasn't

Just read through the whole story . . . Bummer. o_O Sort of the reason that I don't buy new boats, (among other reasons ) . . . but this story is probably a more extreme case. Hopefully the Stingray will be a better experience.

    2018 Parker 2810

I guess it would be good to know what the marina actually means by "length in water" . . . but it is a fair assumption that it is overall length, as that is what marinas tend to care about. Possibly could mean 'water line length', but you would really need to verify that with the marina...

2022 Splash Of The Year voting

I has occurred to me that this past year many of 'us' were out buying new(er) boats and not restoring the old ones.
