    Without the ignition on, put in gear and manually turn prop...is it engaged ? If so it might be a bad prop hub, have saw brand new ones that don't work, so check that out. Have to ask...what is a rubber duck ?? Been around boats for over 60 yrs, never heard that term !!

    I agree, that is why I made my plywood U shaped mounts to straddle the build in seats. The plywood came down a foot and a bungee strap clipped at the bottom held it in position. Very stable, but, could be moved from side to side by unhooking/ hooking the bungee strap. Wish I had pics to show...

    How heavy is the load ? If only a tinnie under 1000 lbs not an issue, but if a 4000 lb boat and motor then don't skimp on strength. I am a firm believer in heavy duty, better to be safe than sorry, but...there is such a thing as overkill.

    If the seats are in a fixed position, you may regret that when balancing the load. Not a big deal on karger boats, but small tinnies, you need to be able to mive people weight around...been there done that, make them movable.
