    Vibration at low speed

You don't want to know. Bad, bad things according to @Scott Danforth when I suggested that it might just make for a suuupper smooth luxo ride.

    Vibration at low speed

Interesting. Noticed the same thing on mine as well, didn't think it would be an issue with the balance shaft.

    power to bildge pump

Not to be a jerk, but punctuation would help your post a lot ... That said, nobody has any idea what we're working on. Skiff? Old timey paddle boat? In general, to test the switch, check for 12v on both sides of the switch. If you don't have 12v when the switch is on then that's your problem. As...

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

I'd disconnect it at the coil, just to eliminate a wiring issue between the coil and dash Yes

1988 searay Seville cuddy cabin. Is it a good boat?

If you don't want to restore it (and no way in hell I'd do it at this point in my life--partial resto was plenty for me), your best bet is to part it out. If you paid a couple of grand for the boat, you should be able to break even at least. Still work though. Regardless of your choice the next...

    Mercruiser 350 heads

Also, used heads can be found at your local pull a part for $20 or so.

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Is there a flow chart for troubleshooting like for the TB systems (or points)? Any reason that you can't simulate a pulse from the dizzy pickup to the module to test?

Mercruiser 140 Points to Delco EST results in low RPM at WOT

"Base" is different than "initial". Only est had a base setting. At idle there is still advance. If they actually retarded the timing that much the engine would be significantly detuned (see the op's numbers) so we're now talking about a 110 hp motor or whatever

Mercruiser 140 Points to Delco EST results in low RPM at WOT

That's only 2' from original, still way different

Mercruiser 140 Points to Delco EST results in low RPM at WOT

What's the difference in the engines to account for that? Also looks like it would need 12' initial as OP said originally... Wonder if that would start/idle like crap.

    Ford 302

Parts and upgrades are much cheaper if you're not in a hurry

That's only like ½ now with inflation

Mercruiser 140 Points to Delco EST results in low RPM at WOT

My next step is checking for consistent spark at each cylinder. Timing light on each lead, make sure you're not dropping occasionally. Also, assuming you have good fuel/checked filters etc. Water/old fuel is always suspect. At some point I might go old school and put a vacuum gauge on there...

Mercruiser 140 Points to Delco EST results in low RPM at WOT

Always a good idea, but feel like this wouldn't be subtle on a 3.0. have you checked total timing with a light? 24' total sounds low (though I don't know the specs)

    Alpha one gen 1 questions

Clicking sound is normal in one direction in gear, should be impossible to turn in the opposite direction. Neutral should turn freely both ways. Did you follow @achris instructions for adjustment (in his signature), for the service manual? Does the cable slide freely when it's disconnected at...

    Alpha one gen 1 questions

Where? Probably should start a new thread in the prop section, but you want to choose your prop pitch based on your WOT rpms; should be 4400-4800 rpm, at the higher end when lightly loaded.

Bought a new long block and wondering about the coupling and gimbal bearing.

You realize that there's no difference in the valves, right? Good luck with that.

Marine Flywheel compared to an auto flywheel

Be nice to have a valve there, the accessibility sucks in my boat.
