    Since I've figured out my idle problem, thought it was time for a new water pump/impeller, since it hasn't been changed for several years. The thing has a OEM pump housing (I think) made of aluminium and has a seal in the upper half. The new pump housing doesn't have the seal. (see photos)...

    Spark plug wire set 1963 "300" Carbon or stranded coper?

    This engine is new to ME. I don't think it has the correct spark plug wire set. Someone has installed MotorCraft carbon fiber wires. Am I correct thinking this is wrong and should have stranded coper wires, such as Packard 440?
