Losing Power - After two hours

Ok, that sound like something is slipping then. An outdrive problem (gearshaft, broken gears) wouldn't recover. Rubber related options are coupler and prop hub. Not sure how long a prop can slip before giving up the ghost altogether. A coupler probably wouldn't last long once it starts to slip...

Losing Power - After two hours

Again, the critical information is are you doing 11 mph at 4200 rpm at that point, or are the rpms increasing, but not back up to 4200 either?

Losing Power - After two hours

Yeah, saw that. "Doesn't seem to have the same power" doesn't answer the question. At 4200 rpm (or 3k, or 3500 or whatever) when acting normally, what is your speed. At those same rpms when acting abnormally, what is your speed. If you're doing 35 mph @4200 normally, but only 20 mph @4200 when...

Need help with my 3.7l mcm 180

Replace/repair the outdrive. I suppose that with the questions you're asking, you should probably tell us why you think it's seized and what you have done to come to that conclusion

Losing Power - After two hours

You need to determine whether it's an engine problem or a drivetrain problem. When you say "didn't have the same power" at 4200 rpm what does that mean? Is your speed actually decreased? As someone mentioned above, a video would probably be helpful

Difference between 4.3 engine 090 block and 090M block

My starter wouldn't work. Metric bolts (m10?) Were slightly bigger than the holes in the starter. Probably could have drilled them out, but decided to swap out with a PMGR starter

    Lower Unit?

Usually once the coupler goes you won't get back to full speed and won't be able to hold rpm without slipping. I didn't get that sense from your post, but hard to tell rereading it.

    Lower Unit?

Waterlogged boat always a consideration, sounds unlikely in your case. Physically impossible to turn the same rpms at lower speed unless you increase slip.

Buying a used boat anxiety-talk me down.

Good choice. Many boats that size have a 3.0L. The 4.3L will have all the power you need. Should hit 50mph or thereabouts and can handle all the watersports you'd care to throw at it. That package with a (likely) lighter boat and a lighter drive/engine will probably perform better than the 5.0...

    Lower Unit?

If the rpms are good and the speed isn't, you either have a dirty hull, or are carrying a ton of extra weight. Maybe spun prop depending on exactly what it's doing

    Turning engine off noise

Yes, you're dieseling. Uncontrolled detonation after you shut down, yes it's bad. Timing, carb problem, running hot, carbon in the engine, other causes. Is this all the time or only when running hard? First step would be to let it idle for a minute before shutting down. If it does start to...

How's it smell? No mistaking gear oil from motor oil by smell

    2016 4.5L mercruiser i/o Very weak performance

On a new to you boat, the prop would be my last suspect. Imo much more likely that it hit correct rpm at some point in its life, but then developed a mechanical problem. You need to verify rpms, and probably at least change fuel filters and ignition components. I'd also double and triple check...

Losing Power - After two hours

I mean, this is an electrical problem. I'm not sure if how you're explaining it is actually what's occurring--unless you have 2 separate issues. Just to be perfectly clear: the boat is in gear, under power. Then the rpms increase without speed increasing, but you're still in gear. You aren't...

    Installing a new 4.3 Mercruiser

No, not normal. Is it gear oil? You're just looking for smooth rotation of the bearing.
