    Most newer boats use HDPE (i.e. StarBoard) for upholstery frames and backing. You can certainly use plywood, but you should treat it with a wood sealer of some sort (search Old Timer's Wood Sealant) before you mount foam and upholstery covering to it.

    I meant to say 'cushion' in the above post (not curtain) . . . spell checker :rolleyes: Anyway, I am not as practiced at 'boxed' cushions as I am with the other stuff. So, the cushion is not quite as good as I'd like, but the filler cushion tends not to be used all that often.

    I had a similar situation with braided line (anchor rode). As the line would stretch under load, the diameter got too small for the gypsy. I believe the gypsy had some wear on it, which did not help matters. My solution was to go up to the next size line (so from 1/2" to 5/8"). . . problem...

    It may not be properly positioned on the gimbal ring which would cause it to not read correctly. There is a procedure for setting and adjusting the sender (outlined in the outdrive manual) that makes adjustment fairly simple. Try that first then proceed onto other possibilities as needed
