need liability insurance for 1977 stardust cruiser, i park it in a slip at the lake, it has a steel hull

The insurance will still use the value/ condition of the boat to create the premium !! All of them use value to determine cost. Brother in law is an insurance agent/ adjuster, his company is high cost, I dont use him for my own insurance.

    Winch post on boat trailer

As you winch your boat onto the trailer, every couple feet stop and let the winch line go slack....now is the boat centered?? Or is it off center?? Do it again after a few more feet...need to allow slack in the line before determining if the boat is centered. This should show whether the...

need liability insurance for 1977 stardust cruiser, i park it in a slip at the lake, it has a steel hull

In all my boats, we worked with the insurance company to establish a value. Based on condition, BB, and other places that estimate value including advertisement we have always been able to come to a mutual value. I never have owned anything considered junk, so never an issue. My 1983...

need liability insurance for 1977 stardust cruiser, i park it in a slip at the lake, it has a steel hull

Lot of it depends on age and material boat is made from. I only have aluminum hulls so never been an insurance issue. Those with old wood and old fiberglass hulls might very well have a problem and require a survey. The couple times my ins co ask for an inspection, the agent and numerous pics...

    maximum external gas tank size?

None in my state unless you have a problem, then there are always issues!! Look at pontoon boats they generally have two 6 gallon tanks on the back. A single 12 gallon tank might throw off your balance though....

    Bottom paint on Aluminum Crestliner

Painted hulls clean quite easily without fouling paint. Just pull the boat out once per month and give it a good cleaning. I wouldn't take a chance with antifouling paint !! It can be sucessfull with proper preparation and application, but if it isn't done correctly.....to bad !! I have found...
