    Sorry sir, wood rot takes years not a season or two. If i recall you had this on th water for one season. It was already rotted. You are in a tough spot, been there in my late 20s. 15 or so boats later i can say I'm still an idiot but i know a lot more about boats than i did then...

    Im in middle tn, if you need eyes on it lmk. There is also one in my town, sans engines, you could prob get for free as hes dropped to 2k last i saw. He knows how to ship I'm assuming as i saw a semi with a trailer that appeared to be set for a houseboat sitting next to the shop yesterday.

    I know that, but if the power from diesels is better as stated why introduce electic. Maybe at beginning for the tourque but once going?

    Good chance while doing work the crack will fail completely. Be very careful with the parts and the repair will be to fresh surfaces, then do the interior work.
