outboards are nearly the same from one HP to the other within a given displacement.

I say try it during low traffic hours. the only issue I see is trailer sway is magnified by short wheel base tow vehicle and the soft tires.

you may get lucky and find a dealer sitting on old stock. however you will most likely need to replace the control
