    Prop size

I agree with scott and check weight. 21 year old boat can gain water weight unless you've owned since new and kept under storage. Also if you have any friends with a similar boat and chevy block motor ride on his and see what it sounds like compared to theirs.

gonna brag on myself for a minute

or three.... Here in middle TN we have some pretty stuff. We have a state archeological park about 10 minutes from us. Feeds my preferred lake a few more minutes away. 117 year old bridge on the most biologically diverse river in the North American continent. Big tourist draw. Lots of more...

everyone..... just breath here. New member, possibly new to forums and obviously new to boats or at least misters and might be a 22 year old kid. Who knows? I made the mistake of asking about a bayliner on my first post on my first forum - The Hull Truth which if you have been on there any...

Wow. I'll vote no to that. My preferred and closest lake is deep and cool and aerated so even the hottest summer i can just jump in to cool waters. Or have several spring fed waterfalls to go to. I guess im lucky

So, been reading this for a couple days, are there actual misters on boats that soak everyone(thing) down when on the water?? If so why not just get in the water?

    Too big to beach?

Sterndrive you are pretty good to go at about waist deep. My advice stands about two anchors and not ramming the beach. And if i win the lottery I'm buying a fleet of Hawiians for the family...

    Outboard life expectancy

thats why im probably staying with my 50 on my 18 footer rated for 115. 28 mph on my small lakes delving deep into coves and hiking to the falls and taking a nap works well at that speed. had a boat that did over 70 and when bad things happen the resilt is exponetially worse at that speed.

Didnt know duct tape would cause an uproar. Fifty cents worth of tape just is a precaution. Mine sits in barn, on a farm. Things build things in cubbies and holes. Mice can collapse rib cage to a quarter inch gap. I'll leave yall to discuss duct tape with agression.

    Too big to beach?

I believe that is a straight inboard and as such, i would not beach. Do you know your draft? Add at least two feet. Most beaches wont be deep enough for that but if your slope is severe enough then do it. Still use a stern anchor and a bow rope so you dont need the plow up the beach to...
