    cool, looked at a few specs and thought an 18 would work. Still stay smaller on the engine just need to chug around. Ae the islanders/chiefs the same hull as a mariner? I want tall gunnels if possible to make it harder for the bassets to do something stupid.

    keep an eye out for a 16' mariner or something that can be converted. Outboards only, near TN. I'm looking to keep to 2500 lbs or less when done with a mid rage sized motor for its class like a 2 cyl smoker johnnyrude.
