    Shop rate will vary from shop to shop between $100 an hour and $200 an hour. The process will be remove the drive, pull the motor, pull the existing transom shield. Then re-install, align, etc. and if anything goes awry, the time just goes up from there.

    what MSD "upgrades" also, in neutral, your motor only needs to run on 3 cylinders to get to redline. and it will do it without more than a drop of fuel. under load in gear, you need all 8 cylinders and you need a lot of fuel. What is the fuel pressure?

    If you took good measurements prior, you should be able to get the stringers and motor mounts closer than 1/2" You can always add shims under the mounts if you are too low, however if you are too high, it can bite you
