    If you have drums, a fully loaded backing plate is only a few $ more than a wheel cylinder Last one I did, wheel cylinders were $40. A pair of coated backing plates with wheel cylinders, brake shoes and hardware was under $100

    I look at it this way. Personally, I will never buy a new boat as I dont have enough scheckles in the coin purse. I will never buy a new vehicle for myself as I want a manual transmission, LSD, rear wheel drive, and a tight turning radius and I dont want electronics/touch screens/etc...
