    if you are on land and trying to suck water up from a bucket, it wont work. you need a bucket big enough to submerge the drive or use muffs

    If your tires were cracked..., what do you think the other rubber bits are like I generally go 3 years max on a VP and 3-5 years max on a mercruiser bellows. You are pulling the drive annually for the yearly alignment and bearing check, correct?

    You have to change the input yoke in front of the universals when you go from inline to a V6 You can do carb, TBI or MPI. Its up to you Would have to know what is wrong with the 470 before I would make a statement that the ebgine is irreparable

    EFI and raw water cooled is 160. Salt water is better with 140f T-stat, however engine needs 160 Did you verify the temp with an IR temp gun? Moat likely your manifolds are plugged. In salt water, you should have changed them at least once in 13 years, if not twice

    You are testing compression wrong You dont start the motor You pull all plugs, screw in gauge, crank 5 or 6 revolutions (until gauge stops moving) and read gauge, then reset gauge and move to next cylinder
