NEED HELP QUICK PLS: Replacement Engine choices for 350 MPI

Stock build is a mediocre motor with stock GM flat topped pistons and pressed pins vs propper LCQ pistons and floating pins. Difference is between 100-125 lb-feet and a fatter torque curve (about 50-100hp more) if you build it right yourself Seacore is just a fancy name for HX cooled Up to...

    Freese Plug

if your block is not cracked, definitely buy a lottery ticket. some ford 302 motors will push out the core plug and may survive. never ever saw a GM motor that pushed out a core plug and not have a crack. ever. out of the dozens of motors that I have swapped out due to missing core plugs and...

you can rebuild what you have for about the same cost as building new from scratch and have a better motor than the GM built 6.2. or you can buy the GM built 6.2 a new crank is always cheaper than reconditioning your current crank a new set of rods is always cheaper than reconditioning your...

I disagree there. Boats like a Scout 530 LXF, or an HCB Estrella 65, or an Intrepid 470, or a Midnight Express 60 Peid a Mer or even the Aviara 40 are really really nice center console boats. the Chris Craft Catalina line is also nice. Heck I would even take a Boston Whaler 420 Outrage...

NEED HELP QUICK PLS: Replacement Engine choices for 350 MPI

a 383 is 6.2 liters. new 6.2 liters are 377's . both are stroked 350's wiht 3.75" stroke vs the stock 3.48", however the 383 has a bore increased by .030" which is typical of a rebuild. the 2016 and the 2019 would be identical in build other than a build date difference. I would have no...

    Fuel tank capacity

the 3.0 liter motor is about 140hp at the flywheel (unless fuel injected) its not that fuel efficient, burning about 0.41# of fuel per hp per hr in the mid range and about 0.45# of fuel per hp at WOT so at WOT 140 x .45 = 63# of fuel. / 6.82 (#/gallon) is 9.23 gallons of fuel in an hour

OMC Stringer 2.5L front mount height setup

if it was my stringer boat, I would look for a 3.0 stringer with power trim and use that over the 2.5 the extra 20hp is worth it. if you just want the power trim, it replaces the front A-frame assembly next question on your boat as you are spending lots of money on an obsolete motor and...
