    Trailer Brakes

The last 20 or so Timken bearings I have purchased have all said "Made in USA" on the side of the bearing and race themselves. The Timken Seals were made India. I am guessing you don't purchase Timken bearings! I buy the SET4 and the SET17 sizes for my utility and travel trailer. Both are made...

    Trailer Brakes

Bearings and races are simple to replace. When I buy a trailer, first thing I do is replace the bearings/races with US made Timken bearings. I can replace one hub's bearings and races in around 15 minutes including packing the grease into the bearing.

Blue Sea ACR with two batteries is not charging

Does your ACR still have it's ground connected? Usually you run that ground wire through a fuse to ground. The ACR has a yellow light that comes on bright yellow when it connects the two batteries. Does it come on eventually? What battery voltage do you measure at each battery when the engine...

Blue Sea ACR with two batteries is not charging

9.6V is the under voltage lockout. If one battery is 12.0V and the other is above 13.0V for 90 sec or 13.5V for 30 seconds, they will combine. http://assets.bluesea.com/files/resources/instructions/990180180.pdf

    StarCraft bilge pump options

Do yourself a big favor and have both a line straight from the battery(not switched) through a float switch as well as a line from the console through a manually operated switch. That way you can have your boa at a dock with the battery switch off and your bilge pump will be able to protect your...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Or bad brushes, although bad brushes shouldn't cause an overvoltage.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

The engine detection will always keep that from happening. Like I said, you don't need to wire in the ignition feed at all! Standby current is 1 mA. You don't need to worry about it.

    Alternator or switch?

You need to measure the voltage AT the battery to verify what you are seeing elsewhere.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

You can already do this without using a wire. The Victron DC to DC converters have a great way of only coming on when the engine is on. You just have to set up that mode with the correct setpoints...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Was the alternator working before you started this project?

    Sealing electrical connections?

And if you have a choice, always crimp and never solder. Use heat shrink butt crimp connectors and heat shrink ring connectors

    Is this trailer repairable?

It's new trailer time. Next trailer, make sure it's C channel instead of box channel.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

You can already set up the Orion to only come on with the engine running within the app. It’s fine to have solar on at the same time.

This is one reason you lower the out drive...

Was the drive shaft intact before/after this incident? Almost makes me wonder if there was a u-joint that was sloppy. What RPM were you running the motor at and for how long?

Restoring a trailer vs replacing a trailer

I just carried an entire hub with bearings, greased and ready to go. In fact, it was also my spare tire carrier. I welded on an axle stub, put the hub on that...tire attached to the hub.

    I'm stuck

What does the rest of the trailer look like? At some point, might be better to just get another trailer.

    Trailer dog tracking

Measure from the axle where it attaches to the spring to the ball on each side. Make sure they are equal.
