    Keel Guard

Must-have addition if you beach your boat, in my opinion. I installed one years ago and it still looks great.

Adding A Stern Mounted Trim Switch

I added a Mercruiser switch (Part #87-815200A1). It came with the switch and a wiring harness that is just plug and play; no splicing required. Super easy to install and one of the best purchases I ever made for my boat. Looks like Iboats doesn't carry it, but you can find it at...

    outdoor cooking station build

Looks good! Is that a vinyl fence? If so, you might want some sort of heat shield between the grill/burners and the fences. My wife fired up our grill and it was too close to our vinyl siding and a bunch of the siding got too warm and started drooping...

Chopstran is clumpy. Is this an issue when putting on the regular fiberglass?

MIni rollers do work better for wetting out large areas, but even then, you can get clumping when using CSM. It's miserable stuff, IMO.

Chopstran is clumpy. Is this an issue when putting on the regular fiberglass?

You don’t need to lay CSM first. That’s why 1708 is nice; it is 1700 biaxial cloth with CSM stitched to it. Just be sure the CSM side is laid against the substrate and the woven side is facing out.

Chopstran is clumpy. Is this an issue when putting on the regular fiberglass?

I’d grind out the clumps and re-glass. I’m not a bug fan if epoxy under the fiberglass, as poly resin doesn’t stick that well to epoxy. I’d also consider grinding back the gelcoat in areas around your transom core. When you tab in that area, you want the new glass to adhere to the old glass...

    cooking

That's the best way to get a lovely crust! I do that sometimes when I cook steaks sous vide with an immersion cooker. It's hard to beat the flavor!

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

Should be fine. I 'glassed during the winter in a garage heated with space heaters. You resin will kick off fine. Keep up the progress!

new to me 97 ski sanger dlx 20 stringer movement near stern

Have you drilled any test holes in the wood structure to see if you have good wood or rotten mush? That would be a place to start, before making plans to repair the loose stringer.

new to me 97 ski sanger dlx 20 stringer movement near stern

I personally wouldn't use the boat and I wouldn't take anyone out on the boat, unless they signed a liability waiver. If your stringer is that bad, who knows what other structure is compromised?

    Trailer Brakes

I have a very hard time believing the “I phone folks” would accept a manufacturer with an 80% failure rate. That is not believable.

Trailer guides with step in the way

Poles are OK if you just need a visual indicator of where the back of the trailer is. They don’t work very well as bumpers to help guide the boat onto the trailer in windy or heavy current conditions; they bend pretty easily if the boat whacks into them. If you’re looking for something to help...

Dock question: how do these sections hook together?

Actually, the more I think about it... if that's not a floating dock, it might be that those hooks are really all that hold the sections together.

Dock question: how do these sections hook together?

It looks like once the sections were joined together using that hook thingy, that you could reach the holes (by standing beside the dock) that are adjacent to the hooks to attach the sections more securely using whatever hardware one uses with that kind of dock.

Dock question: how do these sections hook together?

Does that hole next to the witness mark serve any purpose? I'm wondering if the sections get loosely bolted together. It seems that if the dock is held together only with that angled hook section, a bit of rough water could easily cause the sections to separate.
