    Year ago I had a Diawa Capricorn, can’t recall the size. Had it on a catfish set up we used on all night sits on the bank. Pulled in some hefty cats with it. Decent reel as I recall.

    Wow, not sure how I would handle that whole situation being that the thing was sound when you left it in the tire guys hands. Just spitballing here, maybe take a look at any video surveillance system they have, if they have one. If so it may show on the recording for that time frame.
