    Usually I use a scissors jack as briangcc said right under the spring perch. If you only have one jack throw you spare on and leave the other side on the jack.

    I ran my 1990 175 for 10 years on 50/1 mix when the vro went South. I don't remember for sure but I think I just unplugged the sensor wires on the pump, I am sure someone on here with a better memory than me can fill in the details.
