    Grease Seal to Spindle Fit

I didn't feel the need to mention that there is a first time where they are hand packed. Subsequently, you don't need to. Don't feel like arguing today. My Karavan's is great, the new grease enters the rear bearing travels to the front bearing and then out. As long as the rear seal is good and...

    Grease Seal to Spindle Fit

"You don't use the axles with the zerks to grease the bearings. You hand pack them." well, yes you do if you have that type of axle. My '06 Karavan tandem has that type of axle and it does a great job of keeping my bearings packed. My hubs get pulled every year for other maintenance and the...

    Another job for JB weld???

if it was mine and if patching was what I decided: drain all gear oil. If you have access to a compressor and a siphon nozzle, use alcohol or acetone to spray into or clean the crack. Doesn't take much. That'll help the jb weld hold. Then use a shop vac to help pull in the jb weld. It just takes...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

when I was in fresh water, no paint. Now I'm in the upper Chesapeake, brackish, I've seen a pontoon unpainted that was covered in barnacles. Talk about looking horrible and slowing a boat down, that would do it. not arguing, it's a choice.

I have that same bearing and seals for my trailer There are 2 seals listed with different inner diameters but the same outer diameter, 1.98". where are you finding a 2" outer diam. seal ? Would it fit?, maybe. You're talking just 002" larger minimal, which might be forceable but might deform it...

Trailer wheel bearings - standard or stainless

my trailer uses the same bearing size. I have Timkens on mine....but I thought all bearings were SS. Regardless, I've been happy with my tandem and in brackish water.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

interesting comment about bottom paint. I did my pontoon after seeing pontoons that operate on the chesapeake without paint. What a mess. And a lift cost vs me repainting every two years doesn't work. but curious why someone wouldn't buy a boat that's been bottom painted.

2025 - My Season By The Numbers

that's interesting to read. How have you found operating on those great lakes with a pontoon? Is that a tri-toon? What diameter are your toons? Have you determined what water/wind conditions are your minimums in operating? What size prop (blades/diameter/pitch) are you running on that 115? I'll...

Not understanding . My northeast subscription , which includes the bay, is renewed every april. Plus occasional updates. My bay map last year showed different depths and shoaling from the previous year in various places .
