    Muffs are for flushing mainly or doing small adjustments at or near idle... I would not tear down the engine until you check for good spark.

    Hard to follow... but if the area your talking about is where I think it is, it seems one of two things. 1st guess, your not completing the last step of the L&S or your timer plate under the flywheel is all gooped up or has blockage. Is it any of those?
