    Well I just started using them so we shall see. I used to get 8 years easy out of my batteries, recently (last 10 years or so) they have been lasting 4 before a noticable loss in voltage. I have a mis-used EverStart group 24 from 2015 that has 12.8 volts on it and I haven't used it for months...

    Maybe you have the wrong water pump. Is it this one? Your model number indicates rope start.

    100 to 140 psi and within 10% of each other. Some might say even slightly lower. Your right down the middle...should give you years of service.

    I fish bays and the ocean. I have two start batteries and I would never leave the dock without it. Isolated by a manual battery switch....I run on one (alternating) and sometimes start it on two if I believe the battery is down. Have always ran deep cycles but will purchase the hybrids from now...

    Or try another tank and replace hoses. Clamps have to correct as well. No air can enter the fuel delivery system.

    I agree check fuel pump diaphragm. If found ok, pull carbs apart.

    Try pumping the fuel line primer ball to see if that effects it when it's bogging. To repeat an earlier request....re-post the model number. The model you posted is incorrect.

    A 1978 outboard should only have a rectifier and that voltage is about right. Also, they don't produce a lot of amps so the only time your getting a good charge is when your hauling the mail.

    I use and have always used gp 27 deep cycle batteries and has no issues. Now if your talking about the two batteries running a electric motor and you wear them down than it's unfair and probably incorrect to think that that motor can charge those up quick or at all. They should be charged back...

    I think they need the weight of the motor and they don't suck in until the main ram is all the way in. So not being on the outboard not sure if that's a real test. Let's let others verify.

    Smaller ones are the"trim" they only work when the motor is down. Are those rams inside right now or extended? They move really slow at the end of the motor down position.
