    Your gunna want to make some PB and fillet all the inside corners and such for strength anyway so you may as well glass it properly .. Poly resin with mat and cloth or 1708... Or epoxy resin with cloth .. No need for mat ...

    Might try asking this over in the restoration section .. Maybe some of the gell coat guys @Scott Danforth can get you headed in the right direction . I hope you get it figured out she deserves to be restored ! These old boats are so cool !!

    Very cool ! The paint though not original looks amazing and fits nicely . Nothing like the dependability of a new motor ..Looks big for that boat . Maybe not ,idk ... A 56 or 57 vintage short shaft merc would have been awesome to find for it .. Cant wait to see it running on the lake !

    3 New porch screen doors for me yesterday to knock a few off the hdl .. Got some other stuff on tap but looking at the price of pressure treated lumber these days .😬 Shiny new prop needs water !!

    As jb said pixs would help .. As long as the existing paint is adhered well and not pealing or bubbling up there's no reason you cant paint it .. Give it a good cleaning to get rid of any oil and gunk .. Scruff it up real good with say 100 grit sand paper .. Acetone wipe down then use rusto...
