    Another surge question

You can buy replacement master cylinders for that actuator. That will be the cheapest option. If that actuator hasn't been used for a while, the master cylinder is almost for sure bad.

    Another surge question

You are right...that bolt doesn't look like it belongs there. If you remove those circlips and pull those rods, the entire guts should slide out forward. By zooming in, I can see its a LP700 Tie Down actuator. Tie Down makes pretty poor quality parts so I would not be surprised if it wasn't...

5.7GI-300-J: left side cylinders not firing- ignition issue???

You sure its not in S.L.O.W mode? Thought that turned off half the injectors when it got into that mode. Rinda Diacom should certainly show if you are in that mode or not.

    What is the inductor for?

The inductor in series in a DC circuit like that blocks AC noise. Its basically just a low pass filter.

    Painting tube trailer frame

Lesson number one. Never build a trailer with enclosed tubes. For some reason, trailers on expensive boats insist on using these types. My new to me Cobalt is one of them. I would never buy a trailer on purpose that had this and if I was rebuilding a trailer, I sure wouldn't use it.

    Wheel bearings full of water

Hard to imagine a seal from a Suckaroo would fit a trailer. There are plenty of high quality double lip seals that work great for trailers. But one from Timken or National.

Volvo Penta 5.7 GSi Knocking – Suggestions needed.

Take your serpentine belt off and run it for just 30 seconds and do that same test to make sure its not associated with anything on the front of the engine.

    ....stocking up for Corona virus

You mean like dental hygienists, surgeons people who work in clean rooms all day? They must be pretty physiologically traumatized.

    Outdrive swinging

Never ever start your engine with the drive fully up. More than likely that is how you broke your u-joint. May also be why you now have gear oil in your bellows. You learned the hard way.

    Outdrive swinging

You are not going to like this but just buy a new driveshaft. I know its expensive but it will work first time. You will have to have a marine shop install it. You probably already realize this but the drive was shaking because of the broken u-joint. As far as how the u-joint got broken, do...

Are surge brakes always a PIA?

The reverse lockout solenoid gets its ground from the trailer ground. The trailer ground is connected to the vehicle ground through the 5 or 7 pin connector. You never rely on the ground through the hitch ball.

Exactly...not planning any insurrection or coup in the distant future. As far as paying my credit card by phone, who in the heck does that? It's all paid online.

Surge brake glide roller....almost lost one.

You can pull the piece that slides in the coupler to make sure it is all ok but my bet is on the caliper pins needing service.

Surge brake glide roller....almost lost one.

When was the last time you took the calipers off and lubed the guide pins? BTW, 120 and 180 is not that hot if you just stopped the trailer. What did you pump grease into? Bearing Buddy? EZ Lube? How often do you pull your wheels and repack bearings?

    Toilet doesn't always completely flush

Yeah...can't really check something like that. If the wax seal has failed, no tightening will help. I also don't use wax rings anymore. I use these especially for floors that have been tiled with the flange below the surface of the floor...
