    If you're ports are framed I would use butyl tape if you're ports are plexiglass. May be some new stuff on the market these days. I don't know. I would stay away from anything that dries hard. The plexiglass needs to be able to expand and contract with temperature variation..

    It's very common when a boat has some age for the ports to leak, deck fittings also.

    I've gotten two seasons so far just by peeling the insulation back to where it still was solid and then gave the wire several coats of liquid tape.

    You can make the wedge out of Styrofoam, shape it to fit and then glass it.but use epoxy resin, it won't eat the Styrofoam..

    Best I remember it ran well and after I got a bit older Pop would set it to 7.5 hp. And finally went to heaven when he set it to 12. God he liked to play with my head!
