Yes, with all the current goings-on, we're gonna run our '98 Wellcraft 240 til it gets beyond our abilities, time, $ - then we'll see. So glad we put fresh power in the Wellcraft a few years ago - and that carb'd GM 350 is something I can work on. The boat isn't perfect, but if she'll continue...
To me, that's a nice looking hull shape. Likely a fair amount of work to make sure it's sound and well-supported. The good people on here have a nice history of providing really good assistance, if you decide to dig-in.
Thanks for posting pics
Looking for suggestions on seat cushions for a 14 ft aluminum boat with small side driver console. (Alumacraft w 20 HP outboard). It's our 2 mile by 4 mile Adirondack lake camp fishing boat
Our current method is to sit on a throwable cushion, towel, whatever.
I envision two cushions (one for...
A quick internet search turned up a little info on that boat type. They do look like interesting boats - not sure if it's a real good 'guest room' - intended primary use and waters it'll be in are key factors. It's an old boat, make/model likely have little to no bearing on what you'd be...
My 1998 boat in great lakes area - during a regular on-water inspection, leo's wanted a closed locked valve on the OEM head discharge line (there is a holding tank). I think in great lakes boating areas, you can't discharge anywhere anytime.
The old cities discharge raw sewage as part of...
what changed to develop this problem? or maybe nothing changed, and the problem just became apparent as you had more experience with a fairly new-to-you boat?
I've been watching some nights. Ya, really like the speed sports that don't rely too much on judging - skeleton is siiiick!
The kid that laid-down a really great super-pipe run on a snowboard (Japan?) seemed to get 'robbed'.
Ya, the hosting country doesn't seem to care they don't have enough...
weather?, climate?, change? all depends on how these terms are defined. and yes, now that there's 24/7 "news" in so many places, "news stories" must be more sensational than the next to get eyes/ears/ and advertisers attached
Congrats and sounds like you're ready to concentrate on the positive, and have safety in mind.
And yes, certainly, we're boaters with DIY point of view - all our best boater friends are at least a bit crazy. Enjoy!
When we re-powered our 1998 model year, I cleaned and re-painted the exhaust risers on that 350 (I assume original), to put on the new 350. They looked fine, and have been good on the re-power engine for the 5 years it's been in the boat. I think this boat has always been in non-salt water.
Enjoy watching your progress - ALL boat pics are GOOD boat pics (to me). Thanks for posting
Ya, skyhooks, muffler bearings, etc - recalls some funny discussions on that kind stuff over the years (and just last night too).
