    Thanks but can you be more specific on exactly what to mark and how many turns etc. Thanks Long Island boat. Any idea what the ratio means ?? As far as engine size matching up? I have always thought the 1-5-1- is for a V8. ?? Charlie

    Picked up this outdrive with ss prop very cheap. It was left on the rack in marine shop .I assume the markings mean gear ratio.Dont know about the AK . Its crusty but I couldn't pass it up.Locks into gear and turns by hand properly so cleaned up should be a good spare drive for my 5.0...

    My only other lube option I had that day was to use extra virgin olive oil that my wife uses often and I believe she would have choked me out if I used it.I stay out of that part of the pantry. Charlie

    Waaaay more info/details needed to help advise.Engine size and outdrive type is extremely useful.From what you gave us ,I would say the Maxim is what I would lean towards because it is a little bigger, newer,and does not need upholster work. Charlie

    Cleared my pool cover of rain water after a week of rain.Took a quart of the apron 50 gallons and filtered it thru a towel and put it on my garage shelf to use as distilled water to top off my batteries.Anyone know if this wouldn't qualify as distilled water??     Will This motor cover fit my 2000 200HP Saltwater series???

    there is a 2003 150 hp cover for sale in very nice shape.Wondering if it will be same fit for my 2000 200HP Saltwater series??? Decals are different but looks very similar.I grew up with Evinrude/johnsons and many covers were interchangeable regardless of exact year and hp.Charlie
