That is correct how timing is done using an advance timing light and not having a ECM. You may be able to do it with a ECM but I cannot say for sure. Your motor does have the connector it's just has not been found yet
Kind of odd from them to fail that soon, they normally last for the life of the boat. A 3.0 just doesn't produce that much torque
Does the alignment bar go in easy?
Have you tried tightening the bolts 38 ft-lb?

Went out with a ratchet wrench earlier to pull plug on bottom of cylinder but couldn't budge it, going to need a breaker bar I think

Issue: L/R wings will not move enough to lock into transport latches without manual help
It use to be only the left wouldn't latch without help but now it's both.

My thought is it fires from heat and weak spark. Spark was weak and didn't burn the fuel fully and intake started to open
The NOCO Bat said it had an internal regulator which managed the charge. Every thing was fine for all year until it went dead the first time

Had problems with lawn mower Bat staying charged so I installed a Bat cut off switch and then a NOCO LifeP04 Bat. All worked good until one day I forgot to turn Bat switch off...
Went to cur my grass one last time and Bat went dead.
Took the old Odyssey Bat removed from seaqdoo and installed in mower. Fired it up with a few grunts and got lawn done
Both Seadoo and mower get PC925 Bats next year
