    Setting Timing on a 2002 VP5.7GXI-A

Maybe but may also cause a trouble code with the other connector removed and may not even start. Pic is blurry but note the connector top center

    Setting Timing on a 2002 VP5.7GXI-A

That is correct how timing is done using an advance timing light and not having a ECM. You may be able to do it with a ECM but I cannot say for sure. Your motor does have the connector it's just has not been found yet

    2005 3.0l Mercruiser

Kind of odd from them to fail that soon, they normally last for the life of the boat. A 3.0 just doesn't produce that much torque Does the alignment bar go in easy? Have you tried tightening the bolts 38 ft-lb?

Outdrive tight after steering pin and lower bushings replaced

    NOCO LifeP04 in lawn mower

My thought is it fires from heat and weak spark. Spark was weak and didn't burn the fuel fully and intake started to open The NOCO Bat said it had an internal regulator which managed the charge. Every thing was fine for all year until it went dead the first time
