You do realize, it won't trim in as far when you extend them, Right,..??

Dui makes a Hei that is,.....
The go-to boat replacement ignition is the Delco Voyager system, which is reasonably inexpensive,......

Usually it's (B) battery, (I) ignition, (S) start, 'n possibly (A) accessory,.....

I use a bungee strap from the cav-plate, 'round the prop shaft, back to the cav-plate to hold tension on the prop shaft, to hold it in forward,....

Ayuh,.... The spark goes from the coil tower, to the center of the distributor cap, where the rotor sends it out through the plug wire to the spark plug,....
Ayuh,..... Hard to tell in yer picture, where does the in-coming water from the raw water pump go into the t-stat housing,..??
That big bar hides alot,...
Ayuh,.... It's the tension on the cable pulls the big plastic rocker which activates the switch,...
It shifts, then there is no more tension on the cable, 'n the big rocker is spring driven to center, the switch opens again,.....
yer picture above is missing the rest of the assembly,....

Take it back apart, 'n recheck the float level, 'n make use all of the passages are clean,....
