    Your motor has a E in the code and is electric start. My 30 hp electric start has a rectifier coil dedicated to recharging a battery. We should be able to find a parts print of the battery charging circuit parts on www.crowleymarine.com

    You are right about that not being rain. But a loose hose clamp. Or a forgotten clamp ? Problem is ALL that white looking sediment. No known saltwater. Right ? Then your fresh water is very loaded with whitish sediment. That is spraying all over.

    All that salt build up ???? At least 10 years from a motor cooling part or hose when running. A driver of the boat. And you looking at all parts of the engine for a spray / mist when running. NOT very fast is required.

    How bad of an idea is this for OB support while trailering?

    I tilt all OB motors almost ALL the way up for any road traveling. I stop the motor, when the power head is right over the transom. All road shocks are straight down into the transom. No cords or other stuff is needed.

    No limits.............. Except that there is no fuse or Circuit Breaker to protect the small wire. During a short circuit. During a device, causing a dead short.

    I just strip off enough insulation so I can FOLD the smaller wire strands several times. To fit a little loosely in the bigger hole. A normal hand compression plier can squeeze it tight.
