Is the nose of the pin rod hitting the winch frame? I'd think cutting it a tad shorter would make the thing not line up either. Just my morning thoughts without enough coffee.
Doubt the two are related myself. Usually when I change a belt for a customer, all of them get changed as the age of one is the same as the other. Other than a bearing going south, perhaps the belt was just old.
Had a few in the shop that developed a vibration. Just another one yesterday. Nothing to do with the drive. Turns out if you have the flat distributor cap, it’s most likely misfiring causing a vibration. Yeah any dizzy can do that from lack of service but them flat caps do it more often.
Can I use rustoleum on my transom assembly after I sand/prep/ prime it? Or will it fail fairly quickly? There is no corrosion on it, just the paint is wearing through due to age.
Remove it completely. Make a rounded tab out of teak and screw it down. It don’t have to be that tall, it’s to keep the door from moving out/in flopping around. Not really stop, but ,a retainer.
