    Well when you determine if they are cracked from freeze damage you could have more problems than that so don't rush out and buy manifolds just to find out later that the engine block is also damaged..

    I'm humble! Now I have a grasp on the geometry of this.. always wondered why there was two in such a short run...it seems they need to offset each other and a 1/2 degree is the minimum offset..thx @Scott06 for the tip..

    Well I've swapped a few, I remember putting in solid lifters in a 283 Chevy. Got a few more revs and a few less miles but it was fun.. I'll google the pinion angles and see what I come up with..thx..

    That's an interesting thought, your saying that they like a bit of angle, it seems dead straight would be less stressful. How have you come to this?

    I just gave a 27ft oday to a young fella last weekend. I didn't want the expense of a total restore, but he's 19 years old and thinks he can live on it and bring it to life. He rented a slip for 200 bucks VS the thousand he was paying for an apartment. He's got the time!

    The cable sheath is probably grooved and binds up. Have a helper create some resistance and then give the helm a spin..

    In that case sit tight, I'm a novice especially with diesel. Good folk here who can help with the electrics.. oil pump would be just a guess, they don't fail often

    Get a stand alone pressure gauge and see what the pressure is.. maybe a sensor went south..

    I guess it could be, but a 33 year old cable is my guess.. there's excess slop somewhere.
