    In my youth I used to work for a sailboat dealership and was sent to the hunter factory to see how they were made. in those days, hunter would send a quart of gel that was used on the boat so you got an exact match cause usually there would be a few chips to repair..The dealer I worked for...

    Maybe trash or water in the tank. Try using a portable tank and you may need to check the carb again...

    I'd be willing to bet it is the wrong kind of hose. Looks like regular old PVC to me.

    Agree with the spring lines, they are a necessity, keeps the boat lined up so the whips can do there job..

    After a bit of thought I don't think you would like it. Very difficult to get to the motor even to start it, you have a lot of deck back there..

    I've seen the above bracket used on a transom like yours they have a wedge shaped block behind the mount.. It will steer fine and if you need a sharp turn you can turn the motor as well..

    If you can lay your hands on a bore scope you can get a good look at the condition of the coupler.

    Yep, I got a free boat year before last and spent most of last year tinkering with it... I got lucky with the hull but it still has a way to go..if you like tinkering as much as you like boating then you'll be okay...
