    Yes in my limited experience a manifold will hold water unless you pull the drain plug.

    I suppose that would depend on the location of the 2nd battery. I put my 2nd battery opposite the 1st battery in the stern so it was a shorter run to the motor than tying to the negative post of the first.. but no reason you can't.

    So your saying you have thru hull drains that are under water and no valves on them. I don't even think that's legal.

    May want to try another caliper for comparison. If you have access to a lathe you could turn it down but you couldn't add to the first stage. That said I think you could still get accurate grease readings.

    Check the routing of the outer cable jacket, It can get jambed or kinked quite easily. It has to follow a specific path to the shift plate..

    Should be directly fastened to the thru hull fitting. Trace your intake hose and it should lead you right to it..

    If you have a thru hull fitting for the intake it assuredly has a valve.
