    Since you said red neck repair, de-grease it real good and then put some red locktite on the shaft when you put it back together. You may not ever get it off again so be sure all is good..

    They don't like being dry and will fail quickly, and they DO mate for life, be sure you put them back in the same place. All the above posts, good stuff!

    I could see a hybrid sail/electric motor if the sails could incorporate solar cells. batteries in the keel. might work. If gas prices keep going up I believe my power boat days are limited.

    Well the last thing I want is for a plug to break off in the block, it was quite a chore getting the old drain valves out of the block, so I'll try to find the stainless or brass wing style and put some anti seize on them each year. Best I can tell the inlet hose going to the steering cooler...
