    Your motor uses a MEFI-3 or 4 (probably 3) ECM and if can be reflashed. To do it, will need something like MEFIBurn Will need to erase the program and build a new file. Need AFR gauge and install O2 sensors in the exhaust to tune. Either that or send out to have a approximate tune loaded

    Welcome Bold print is not necessary Some ECM can be reflashed but depends on which one you have. If you have a MEFI then yes it can be done. If something later then that's a maybe. What is you motor serial number?

    Check your wiring coming from the MPR (Main power relay) which is item 15 in pic. The pic shows a V8 but yours will be the same. The MPR also supply's power to the distributor

    Have carried Buck most my life. Still have the one used while in the Coast Guard (110 folding hunter). Largest problem with Buck is it doesn't hold the edge due to stainless. Current carry is Buck 284 Bantam and a folding Box cutter

    I wouldn't worry about trying to count teeth. The only way to get full ratio is the rear top cap must also be removed, then remove prop shafts to finish the count. Make the prop shaft and drive shaft. Rotate drive shaft 10 times and count prop shaft turns. Then divide by 10

    Welcome Thanks for the motor serial number So the motor only cranks when the slave is jumped, and not when key is turned to start? When key ON there is no power to the ECM fuse? Turn key ON and see if you get 12V on each side of the fuel injectors

    All Merc twins use opposite rotating props and like VP it's easy to change. Most Merc's used Hurth/Velvet drives and it's simple to change the pump to have it rotate in different directions in FWD
