    Shifter

Unless something was stuck or jammed in the lower unit, the carb would not affect the shifting. You might try draining the lower unit again just in case there was something in there jamming things up !!

    Evinrude Paint

I have never used primer unless on bare aluminum. When I re painted my old jon boat, there were some bare spots, but I didn't bother to prime them. Just scuffed everything with sand paper and a scruffy pad with paint thinner. Cleaned off everything with alcohol and let dry. Used Rustoleum...

Depends how much hp you have, no reason it wont unless you have a really heavy person ! Back in 1964 I had a 14' mirro with an 18 hp evinrude and we skied behind that, getting up a little tricky but very doable. Also depends on the ski's, wider will be easier to get up on, skinnier will take...

    Ignition alarm

I fill rhe oil reservior on the motor ( injected) when I fill the boats fuel tank. Oil from the reservoir mixes with the fuel when it comes to the carbs. The oil resevoir holds more than enough oil for my 17 gallon fuel tank. I always fill up with fuel on my way home, back unto my barn and...

    Ignition alarm

My 1992 still has the beep and neighbor has a newer motor but don't know the year that has the initial beep. According to my manual that beep is a test for the over heat alarm beeper. My magnet came off the oil level float also, so I disconnected it. I do check my oil level frequently and fill...

How much did you use ?? Probably loosened up all the crap and plugged up the tiney holes in the carbs...actually just what it is supposed to do, but using it regularly prevents the all at once major cleaning job!!

    Shifter

Won't shift at the motor or won't shift thru a remote control ?? Actually can be many reasons, why not diagnose the problem first ?

    1992 6hp rewind starter housing

Wasn't sure if that was the part or not...If it is...then it could be repaired I think. Epoxy, and some braces screwed in to help hold position and some reinforcement at the joints. Not pretty, but could be done for sure. The motor is new enough that won't find much in scrap heaps yet....
