    Adding for safety is a good thing, but if there is never a short, then it wasn't needed. Something like, if you have a fire extinguisher in your house and never need it then it might have been a waste of money :unsure:

    Sorry to say but getting a Merc reman doesn't mean you got a good motor. My Buddy put 2 of them in and both had issues, this why this time we rebuilt it. As Ted said do a leak down test to find out what the problem is

    Thanks for the SN, shows it's a 2 stroke Carb and Beligum I'm assuming easy start is Either, and using Either can damage the motor When it started the one time, did it run for a while and you shut it down? Or did it start real quick and then shut down? Is gas making it to the Carb?

    Yes 9 pin will be the same, neither use pin 9 and in most cases it's not there Double check the intakes. Pre-vortec has 12 bolts. Vortex has 8 bolts

    Welcome Most diesel tanks don't have a vent line, because they constantly circulate fuel from tank to injection pump and back to the tank. Look for USCG Type A1 fuel line, it's rated for gas and diesel

    Your looking at the tank, or if that is just a board then follow the hose back to the tank The hand side walled hose is the tank fill hose. Your vid shows it going along and up

    Your axle will accept brakes, but the tongue and couple would need to be changed for the master cylinder. Measure the bolt spacing on the axle flange and then find backing plates and drums the will bolt one. Could even go disc, just need a couple more parts The easiest is electric brakes but...
